Merry Christmas (2016) from Michael Forman, Western Australia.
First: Thanks to all enjoying SEETHINGS.
I wish the world safety and absolute peace.
Second: May this Season be kind and peaceful to you and all those you know.
For Christians, this Christmas is not unlike all that came before it. It contains peace, war, anger, love and fellowship.
For those who know me well, I'm not into the Christ side of the season. I still believe Christmas is just a farce (Birth date of Christ placed into to the Gregorian calendar at a time to compete with the pagans solstice celebrations) but I don't disbelieve in mankind's desire to embrace enduring peace.
Every mother wants a safe place to raise her child. Every father wants his wife to feel safe. The freedom to walk, play, eat and drink anywhere they like without fear of harm is the basis to every culture's dreams. What screws things up is earth-bound limitations.
Peace is a simple word to say but peace in law isn't any Law's or Religion's rite. They demand a destination when, in fact, it's mankind's journey.
In the end, it comes down to individuals and their choices.
Taxes, fines and tithes change nothing. Action is what's needed. Today is the day. This is the day. There is no other time like now. Promises need to be exchanged by action on this day... like tomorrow and every day afterwards.
This year is coming to an end and, despite the rules and laws to stop conflict, there is only one thing that counts: Action - from individuals.
I wish everyone some peaceful action and a prosperous set of affirmative actions for 2017.
