Update May '13

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't written for a while. I've been meaning to do something here but time keeps getting away from me. I've got many things in the pipeline and too little time to do it all.

Firstly, the blog is increasing readership at a phenomenal rate. There are now about 100 visitors to the site a day and about new 1300 new visitors per month. I've put this down to keeping up the daily blog (4-5 blogs per week) and actively maintaining a reasonable standard of good embedded search criteria with them.

Secondly, I've been to Perth to help a friend and see the sights. I enjoyed my time there but it kept me from the novel.

Thirdly, I haven't been well. Toothaches, backaches and the flu have kept me down. I was so glad to keep theatre out of the calendar for the first part of 2013. I don't know how I would've coped with it if I had signed up for something.

Fourthly, I am now into theatre again - co-directing/performing in a musical/play and performing in another. (Performed in a concert March 9th - see pic below)

Fifthly, I'm moving... not sure when but the plans are in motion.

So it's all happening and this means the publishing date will be put back. I hope to have ITBIM out by the end of this year.

Saving a Drowning Pigeon from the Sea.

In a former life, I raised racing pigeons . My early teenage years were spent breeding pigeons to fly in competitions. Their unique ability to find their way home from long distances totally amazed me. Fast-forward to March 2008: Mark and I were on a sailing a trip from Woody Point to Sandgate in his unusual-looking trailer-sailer for a meat pie at Doug's Cafe . On the way I noticed something floating in the water ahead. I wasn't sure what it was, but I asked Mark to navigate towards it anyway. It was a baby pigeon! Only a tip of beak and a bit of a tail was left above the surface. The chick was in distress and completely exhausted. My best guess was that it fell from the nearby Hornibrook Highway bridge (They nest underneath the support structures) and fell while trying out it's new wings. Yes, it was a toddler learning to walk.  Baby pigeons aren't perfect on their first flight. They mess up and fall down, staggering about just like a toddler test
